The legendary Storm Thorgerson passed away on April 19, 2013 after a lengthy battle with cancer.

The British artist and graphic designer – who created iconic album covers for such bands as Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin, Genesis and Phish – has been (and continues to be) a great inspiration for our work here at Dzynestudio.

His work – ranging from canvas art to surrealist compositions to outright eccentric & psychedelic patterns – was one of a kind, not only in its creation but also in its appeal.

Storm – and his fertile, imaginative mind – will be missed. RIP, you crazy diamond.

The 360 paper bottle from Brand Image is an attempt to address the problems caused by the 60 million plastic bottles that are thrown away daily in the United States alone. The paper vessel is made from 100% renewable food-safe resources, fully recyclable and versatile in a number of potential liquid categories.

Iconic designer Harry Pearce, Pentagram was asked by Sanky from AllofUs, last year’s D&AD President, to design the 2011 D&AD Annual.

The heart of Pearce’s idea for the Annual stems from wanting to celebrate the wonderful graphic illusion and quality of the original D&AD mark, which was designed in 1962 by Fletcher Forbes Gill, the studio that later became Pentagram.

The 2011 D&AD Annual is a masterpiece and benchmark for design, minimalism, symmetry (with deliberate asymmetry thrown in) and sustainable and eco-friendly print production process.

The cover is just fantastic!

Rethinking Cleaning: a smarter sustainable system in a better bottle

Born from an idea company founder Jason Foster had while ironing more than four years ago, Replenish came to Radius with the idea of an environmentally friendly, highly concentrated all purpose cleaner delivered in a sustainable spray bottle system design. The unique characteristic of the Replenish product is in the system approach; the entire package and delivery system was conceived, designed and realized as a reusable and recyclable system intended to reduce the burden on the planet.

The ultimate result is a product that uses 90 percent less plastic and produced 90 percent less oil and carbon dioxide emissions compared to using other cleaners over the course of a year. By shipping empty bottles with a concentrate pod attached, truckloads are lighter. And since the idea is for consumers to reuse one bottle over and over while buying only pods, the smaller physical footprint of the pods means fewer trucks on the road; approximately (1) for the (15) that would be required with traditional cleaners.

This one’s absolutely nuts – as part of their “Alcoholidays”  annual self promotion, One Trick Pony decided to take the Yule Login theme to another level. Celebrating awesome clients and hard work with hard liqour, the idea was to send tequila to all clients neatly packaged in a hollowed-out log.

Clients opened the log packaging to reveal this year’s theme YULE LOGIN – as in, you’ll read the instructions on the bottle’s label, then YULE LOGIN to our mobile site to find all your favorite ponies ready to toast to The Alcoholidays on Facebook and Twitter.

Each client received a personalized password and could also create their own toast – check it out at yulelogin.com.
